The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-17 Lucca's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 72-66 at the end of the game. Taranto forced 26 Lucca turnovers and outrebounded them 35-21 including 20 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American center Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 rebounds and French center Elodie Godin (190-85) supported her with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Taranto's coach Roberto Ricchini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 16 points by American power forward Courtney Willis (188-82, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Lucca. The former international guard Benedetta Bagnara (178-87, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points for lost side. Four Lucca players scored in double figures.
