The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kolossos' 38. They outrebounded Kolossos 38-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. Panathinaikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Australian center Aleks Maric (211-84, college: Nebraska) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian guard Sarunas Jasikevicius (192-76, college: Maryland) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. American guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) responded with 17 points and forward Antonis Asimakopoulos (204-76) scored 5 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
