The game was mostly controlled by Taranto. Lucca was better in third quarter 13-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Taranto forced 35 Lucca turnovers. American center Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) nailed 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) accounted for 10 points. Taranto's coach Roberto Ricchini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Courtney Willis (188-82, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lucca in the defeat.
