There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (7-12) beat at home 7th ranked Thailand Bangkok Cobras (6-14) 77-69 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-14. But Bangkok Cobras won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Gentry Lewis (206-81, college: Philander Smith) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and forward Chanachon Klahan (190-84) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Bangkok Cobras. Saigon Heat moved-up to sixth place. Bangkok Cobras lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Saigon Heat are again looking forward to face Bangkok Cobras (#7) on the road in the next round. Bangkok Cobras will have a break next round.
