The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-6. But Kutaisi won second period 26-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TSU dominated on the defensive end, holding Kutaisi to just 6 points in first quarter. Guard Beqa Chikviladze (195-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Mikheil Chitashvili (193-84, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Center Richard Matiashvili (209-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and Serbian forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Kutaisi.
