Quarter-Finals Round 2: Sozh Gomel - Grodno-93 51-97

The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sozh Gomel's 34. Grodno-93 forced 31 Sozh Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Sozh Gomel's players. Ukrainian center Vadim Matyukevych (208-80) notched 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Andrei Navoichyk (200-91) supported him with 14 points. Grodno-93's coach Andrei Vasileuka felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by center Pavel Bliznets (205-94) did not help to save the game for Sozh Gomel. Center Igor Drobyshevskiy (206-93) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts.
