The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Sendai 89ers managed to win second period 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sendai 89ers to just 2 points in first quarter. Akita Happinets forced 22 Sendai 89ers turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Lionel Green (196-84, college: SUNO) notched 14 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) supported him with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Even 7 points and 9 rebounds by forward Johnny Dukes (203-84, college: San Bernardino CC) did not help to save the game for Sendai 89ers. Center Rashaad Singleton (213-87, college: Florida Southern) added 4 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
