Cras Taranto ended impressive season in Italy. They outplayed Familia Schio tonight 72-58 winning the Finals with 3-0. Familia Schio won the A1 title last season, while Taranto did it in 2009 and 2010. Taranto also outplayed Familia Schio in the Cup Finals earlier this season, 78-57. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-58. Taranto outrebounded Familia Schio 42-21 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international guard Giorgia Sottana (177-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points. French center Elodie Godin (190-85) helped adding 9 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Israeli guard Liron Cohen (173-82) with 10 points and the former international forward Raffaella Masciadri (185-80) scored 17 points. Taranto was the regular season champion with 20-2 record. They eliminated Bracco Geas in the Quarterfinals with 2-0. Later Taranto had to work very hard to eliminate Lucca in the Semis, 3-2.
