Givova Scafati grabbed 2-0 lead against Central Latte. It looked good early as Centrale Latte took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Givova Scafati had a 33-22 second period charge getting the lead and Centrale Latte was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 92-106. Givova Scafati forced 21 Centrale Latte turnovers. American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) notched 23 points, 7 assists and 8 steals to lead the effort and the former international swingman Andrea Ghiacci (200-81) supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Givova Scafati's coach Giulio Griccioli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) did not help to save the game for Centrale Latte. Naturalized Argentinian forward Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-81) added 16 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
