The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Kyoto Hannar. won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okinawa GK made 27-of-35 charity shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Kyoto Hannar. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds. Five Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jermaine Boyette (188-78, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
