The game was mostly controlled by Trieste. Ferentino was better in third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trieste forced 21 Ferentino turnovers and outrebounded them 37-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ferentino was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Innocenzo Ferraro (200-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Alfredo Moruzzi (193-80) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Trieste players scored in double figures. Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Francesco Guarino (182-79) replied with 26 points and 8 steals and power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (207-91, agency: Two Points) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ferentino.
