Cimberio Varese surprised Montepaschi at home court to take the first win. The hosts trailed by 11 points at the halftime before their 26-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. Center Diego Fajardo (208-76, agency: Players Group) helped adding 6 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Lithuanian guard Rimantas Kaukenas (192-77, college: Seton Hall) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian center Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-79) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Montepaschi Siena's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
