The game without a history. Tijuana Zonkeys led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Tijuana Zonkeys forced 27 Frayles de Guasave turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) nailed 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach Luis Lopez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Rogelio Castaneda (201-91) came up with 20 points and 4 assists and American guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) added 18 points respectively for Frayles de Guasave in the defeat. Five Tijuana Zonkeys and four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures.
