Montepaschi overcame Varese in Game 4 to seal the semifinal appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Montepaschi Siena. Cimberio Varese was better in fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montepaschi Siena shot 62.5 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Cimberio Varese turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Montepaschi Siena especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The winners were led by Australian center David Andersen (212-80) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian center Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-79) supported him with 15 points. Four Montepaschi Siena players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by French forward Yakhouba Diawara (201-82, college: Pepperdine) did not help to save the game for Cimberio Varese. American guard Phil Goss (186-83, college: Drexel) added 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
