The game was mostly controlled by Tijuana Zonkeys. Frayles de Guasave was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 48-30 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tijuana Zonkeys looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) fired 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach Luis Lopez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard MaJic Dorsey (185-81, college: S.Indiana, agency: Court Side) added 20 points respectively for lost side.
