Date: May 29, 2012
The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Real Madrid won fourth quarter 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Real Madrid used huge pressure winning it 22-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-13. Strangely Real Madrid outrebounded Caja Laboral 42-23 including 30 on the defensive glass. Real Madrid was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Nemanja Bjelica (209-88, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized American guard Brad Oleson (191-83, college: Alaska-Fairb., agency: Duran International) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) with 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Serbian forward Novica Velickovic (205-86) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
