The best player for the winners was American guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) who scored 24 points and 9 assists. The other American import forward Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Funn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals respectively for the hosts. Four Pioneros Los Mochis and five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
