The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-13. But Chieti won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Trieste won last quarter 28-21. They made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Marco Carra (185-80) who scored 21 points. point guard Michele Ruzzier (181-93) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Trieste players scored in double figures. Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Emanuele Rossi (208-82) produced 28 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized San Marino swingman Andrea Raschi (200-79) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests.
