Rayos de Hermosillo was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-13 charge of Pioneros Los Mochis, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 assists. Funn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Naturalized American point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) produced 18 points and 8 assists and American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Pioneros Los Mochis and five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures.
