Montepaschi made the second step towards defending SeriaA crown. The reigning champions cruised past Emporio Armani at home court to take 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. The game without a history. Montepaschi Siena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Montepaschi Siena forced 22 Armani Milano turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Montepaschi Siena especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Armani Milano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-FYR Macedonian point guard Bo McCalebb (183-85, college: New Orleans) scored 21 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Tomas Ress (209-80, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Montepaschi Siena players scored in double figures. International forward Nicolo Melli (205-91) responded with 6 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Malik Hairston (198-87, college: Oregon) scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
