Virgin Islands down Costa Rica for the initial success at 2012 Centrobasket. The winners needed a 92:64 win to take 1-2 record in the Jose Miguel Agrelot in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Virgin Islands grabbed the lead from the very beginning and never looked behind after. They added 20-14 in the second frame for 43:26 at the halftime. Moreover Virgin Islands won the third and the last quarters. They increased their lead to 28 points celebrating the initial victory. Hodge Walter paced all the winners with 25 points and Aska Ivan notched 17. Jones Phillip collected 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Brown Aaron netted 14. Martinez Kay delivered 16 points in defeat, while Smith Clifford had 12. US Virgin Islands will rest tomorrow and return to court on Friday against the Dominican Republic. Costa Rica will face off with Dominican Republic tomorrow.
