US Virgin Islands clinched the 7th position at the U18 Fiba Americas Championship. They defeated Colombia on the final day of the tournament to claim the spot. Khalid Hart stepped up with 20 points and 9 rebounds to pace the winners. Virgin Islands held their opponents to just 5 points in the first quarter. The Islanders grabbed an 11-point lead. They stretched the margin to 17 points at halftime 30:13. Colombia improved offensively in the third quarter. They knocked down 25 points but Virgin Islands easily matched the effort scoring 26 to enjoy an 18-point lead before the fourth quarter. Virgin Islands maintained the lead throughout the final period and celebrated a well-deserved win. Justin Gray accounted for 17 points, while Kyle Hodge had 10 points in the win. Tony Trocha answered with 20 points for Colombia. Brian Angola netted 15 points in the loss.
