Puerto Rico advanced to the Final at 2012 Centrobasket. The hosts outscored Jamaica 103:89 at the Jose Miguel Agrelot coliseum in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Jamaica started the game with 22-21 but could not keep the lead at the end of the half. The hosts erupted with a 30-24 burst and grabbed 5-point halftime advantage. Moreover Puerto Rico added 30-19 in the third quarter and did not mind the narrow loss in the last stanza. Huertas David poured in 17 points, while Santiago Daniel collected 16 points and 11 rebounds. Rosario Michael, Franklin Alexander and Sanchez Ricardo followed them with 11 points each. Scott Akeem responded with 19 points in the losing effort and Efejuku added 18. Samuels brought 17, whilst Jordan Jerome delivered 16. Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico will have tomorrow a new chapter in his extensive regional sports rivalry for the Gold medal. Jamaica, meanwhile, will face off with Panama for the bronze medal.
