Preliminary Round Day 2: LITHUANIA - NIGERIA 72-53

The Baltic State cruise past Nigeria at Olympics 2012 tournament. The Lithuanian team celebrated a 72:53 and improved to 1-1 record. The African side suffered their first loss and also with 1-1 record in Group A. KLEIZA and Aminu exchanged the early baskets, while SONGAILA closed the first period at 14:8. Lithuania dominated the second frame as well and after 20-19 reached 34:27. JASAITIS scored for 41:30 and Kaukenas increased to 45:31. A strong end of the period allowed the European team to taste 56:40 after three quarters. Lithuania added 16-13 in the last period to seal the initial victory. SONGAILA top-scored for the winners with 12 points, while KLEIZA notched 11. Kaukenas poured in 10, whilst JASIKEVICIUS had 9 points and 9 assists. Diogu and Al-Farouq AMINU replied with 12 points each in the losing effort and combined for 21 rebounds.
