Preliminary Round Day 3: AUSTRALIA - CHINA 81-61

Australia recover from the first two losses celebrating the initial victory at Olympics 2012. The team grabbed 81:61 win over China for 1-2 record in Group B. The Asian team meanwhile fell at 0-3 record on the bottom of the group. Both teams entered the game winless and struggled for the first win. China managed to produce 22-21 in the first period but failed in the second quarter. Australia erupted with 28-11 in the end of the first half to take 49:33 advantage. Patrick Mills opened the third period for 51:33, while China reduced to 10 points after an 8-0 run. Wang ShiPeng nailed three for 51:41 and then Chen Jianghua scored for 55:46. That was however the closest gap they could come up with. Australia added massive 20-9 in the last stanza to seal the victory. Patrick Mills top-scored for the winners with 20 points and David Andersen nailed 17. Joe Ingles notched 13, whilst Aron Baynes delivered 8. Wang ShiPeng ended up with 21 points in the losing effort and Jianlian Yi collected 13 points and 12 rebounds. Chen Jianghua scored 10, while Liu had 9.
