Preliminary Round Day 3: FRANCE - LITHUANIA 82-74

France recorded the second straight win at the Olympic Games basketball tournament. They defeated Lithuania to improve at 2-1 record in Group A. Lithuania fell at 1-2 record after the loss. Tony Parker scored 27 points to pace Les Bleus. France scored 25 points in a high-flying first quarter to take a 4-point lead. Lithuania however took over in the second period. They capped the half on an 8:2 run to take a 43:39 halftime advantage. France responded with a 5:0 spurt at the start of the second half to retain the lead. France ignited a 10:3 rally late in the period to enter the final stanza up by 7 points 59:52. Nicolas Batum, Seraphin and Boris Diaw stretched the lead to 11 points early in the final quarter. Lithuania got back within 6 points late in regulation but Nando De Colo and Tony Parker sealed the victory for France. Nicolas Batum posted 21 points, while Boris Diaw added 10 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds for the winners. Linas Kleiza answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Lithuania. Martynas Pocius added 15 points in the loss.
