Brazil thrash China to make the Quarterfinal appearance of the Olympics 2012. Brazil improved to 3-1 record in Group B after 98:56 victory, while the Asian team fell at 0-4 record. Brazil started with 4-0 run and then Tiago Splitter scored for 9:2. Guo and Marquinhos Vieira exchanged the late baskets in the end of the period for 25:9. Brazil however could not score in the first four minutes of the second frame. China reduced only to 25:11 and then Tiago Splitter posted two for 40:19. Liu meanwhile closed the half at 42:21. The second half also belonged to the favorite team. Brazil won the third period 28-17 and added 28-21 in the last stanza. Marquinhos Vieira top-scored for the winners with 14 points, while Leandrinho Barbosa and Guilherme Giovannoni netted 13 each. Tiago Splitter delivered 12, while Marcelo Magalhaes posted 10. Zhu FangYu delivered 13 points in the losing effort and Chen Jianghua had 10.
