France registered the third win at the Olympic basketball tournament. They held off pesky Tunisia to improve at 3-1 record in Group A. Tunisia suffered the fourth loss in a row. Tony Parker scored 22 points to lead the winners. France seemed well in control early in the game. They recorded a 20:15 lead at the first break. France held their opponents at 12 points in the second term and posted a 35:27 halftime lead. France boosted the margin in the third term. They led by 16 points midway through the period. France entered the final quarter up by 17 points 60:43. But Tunisia refused to surrender. They capitalized on sloppy French attitude to narrow the gap at 5-point mark with 50 seconds remaining. Nando De Colo hit two free throws and France managed to escape with victory at the end. Nicolas Batum scored 19 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Kevin Seraphin added 10 points in the victory. Mohamed Hadidane responded with 20 points for Tunisia. Macram Ben Romdhane had 17 points in the loss.
