Argentina will play at Olympic basketball tournament semifinal. They overcame their archrivals Brazil in the quarterfinal clash tonight. Luis Scola knocked down 17 points to pace the winners. The lead changed hands for several times throughout intense first quarter. Marcelinho Huertas capped it with a three-pointer to give Brazil a 26:23 lead. Argentina gained a 35:30 lead midway through the second frame. Carlos Carlos Delfino crowned the first half with a free throw as Argentina gained a 46:40 lead. Argentina tipped off the second half on an 8:3 run to take a 54:44 lead. The margin soon grew at 15-point mark before Brazil cut it back to 10 points with ten minutes remaining 54:64. Nene Hilario and Leandrinho Barbosa put Brazil within 4 points 66:70 with just five minutes remaining. Garcia dragged Brazil within two but Emanuel Ginobili, Luis Scola, Carlos Delfino and Prigioni knocked down 8 straight free throws late in regulation to seal the victory for Argentina. Carlos Delfino and Emanuel Ginobili provided 16 points each for the winners. Marcelinho Huertas and Leandrinho Barbosa had 22 points apiece for Brazil.
