Preliminary Round Day 1: ICELAND - SWITZERLAND 89-71

Iceland overcame Switzerland in Bosnia in Day 1 of the U18 European Championship. Iceland grabbed 89:71 win for 1-0 record in Group C. Iceland scored the first 9 points in the game and never looked behind after. Fridriksson Elvar scored for 11:2 and Jonsson Dagur closed the period at 20:13. Iceland added massive 27-15 in the second period and reached 47:28 at the halftime. Iceland managed to keep the difference in the second half, while the Swiss side tried their best to reduce. Andjelkovic Daniel cut it to 67:51 after three quarters and he also reduced to 9 early in the fourth. Iceland however pushed the tempo for good at the end of the game for 18-point victory. Hermannsson Martin top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Sigurdarson Matthias delivered 14. Jonsson Dagur finished the game with 12 points, whilst Fridriksson Elvar and Einarsson Emil had 9 apiece. Hoch Sebastian and Andjelkovic Daniel poured in 16 points each in defeat. Kostic Branislav had 12, while Verga Alessandro posted 11.
