Preliminary Round Day 3: MEXICO - CANADA 40-61

Canada celebrated second win at U18 FIBA Americas championship in Gurabo. They downed Mexico 61-40 ending the Preliminary Round as No.2 of Group B with almost perfect 2-1 record. It means that Canada advanced to the Semifinals, where they will meet defending champion USA. Mexico failed to reach the next stage as they finished with 1-2 score in this pool (1-2). They will fight for the fifth place in Gurabo. Paige Crozon stepped up for her team with 13 points and 7 rebounds, and Kaylee Halvorson helped with 12 pts. Cheyanne Roger collected 11 points and 7 boards. In the loosing squad, Maria Faz answered with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Daniela Soto also scored 11 pts and Myriam Lara added 9 points, plus 6 boards. Quarters: 10-2, 13-13, 21-10, 17-15). Championship continues today. Mexico's next rival will be Colombia.
