Brazil finished Preliminary Round at U18 FIBA Americas in Gurabo with perfect 3-0 record. This time they outplayed Puerto Rico 66-53 to win Group B. Brazil advanced to the Semifinals and at the same time booked a ticket for 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship. Isabela Ramona came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds in this victory (valuation 26, MVP). Maria Fonseca followed her with 11 points and 8 boards. In Puerto Rico, Aleana Leon was better than the others with 14 points and 6 rebounds, and Claudia Ortiz stopped to 12 points and 5 rebs. Quarters: 15-16, 18-13, 18-15, 15-9. The host of this event ended as No.3 in Group B with 1-2 record and failed to reach the next stage. Puerto Rico will try to win fifth place at this event and its first rival will be Dominican Republic. In the Semis, Brazil will meet Argentina. Championship continues today.
