Lebanon clinched the first win at the 2012 Fiba Asia Cup. They knocked down Macau in preliminary Group A. Elie Estephane posted 24 point to lead the defending champions. Lebanon unloaded 32 points in the opening quarter to take a comfortable 15-point lead. They held Macau to just 8 points in the second quarter and stretched the lead. Lebanon ensured a 62:25 halftime advantage. The third term was a repetition of the second as Lebanon went on another 30:8 rally and secured a massive 59-point advantage before the fourth frame. They did not slow down and cruised to the victory at the end. Fadi Khatib accounted for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, while Elie Roustom added 15 points for the winners. Hip Meng Lo answered with 14 points for Macau. Fu In Lao netted 12 points in the loss.
