Taiwan celebrated the first win at the Fiba Asia Cup in Tokyo. They overwhelmed India to improve at 1-1 record in Group B. Tsung-Hsien Chang stepped up with 20 points to lead the winners. India suffered the third straight loss at the tournament. Taiwan unloaded 31 points in the opening quarter to gain a 7-point lead. They stayed aggressive offensively throughout the second quarter. Taiwan ensured a 58:41 halftime lead. Taiwan fired 33 points in the third term to build a massive 33-point lead before the fourth quarter. India did not surrender scoring 30 points in the final frame but it was too late to save the game. Creighton Douglas netted 15 points, while Lin Chih-Chieh added 13 points for the winners. Vishesh Bhriguvanshi answered with 20 points and 12 rebounds for India. AmritPal Singh and Pethani Rikin netted 18 points apiece in the loss.
