Iran had to fight hard to achieve the third straight victory at Fiba Asia Cup. They survived a tough challenge from Taiwan to improve at 3-0 record on top of Group B. Samad Nik Khahbahrami was a usual contributor for Iran scoring 24 points. Taiwan fell at 1-2 record after the loss. Taiwan enjoyed a 20:17 lead after ten minutes of action. They stretched the gap in the second frame. Taiwan accumulated a 39:29 halftime lead. But Iran turned things around after the big break. They went on a storming 27:12 rally to ensure a 5-point lead at the final intermission. Iran held Taiwan to 12 points in the fourth frame and claimed the third straight win at the tournament. Hamed Afagh delivered 13 points, while Oshin Sahakian added 7 points and 10 rebounds for Iran. Tien Lei answered with 17 points for Taiwan. Tseng Wen-Ting had 11 points in the loss.
