Qatar clinched Fiba Asia Cup semifinal birth. They shocked Lebanon to stay in the title race. Clinton Fihnoir Johnson fired 28 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to pace the winners. Qatar surged ahead early in the game. They secured a 21:15 lead after ten minutes of action. Lebanon slowed their opponents down in the second frame. They denied the deficit as the teams were tied at 35 heading into the second half. Qatar used a 6:0 run midway through the third term to open a 7-point lead. Soon Clinton Fihnoir Johnson opened a 10-point lead for Qatar 54:44. Lebanon narrowed the gap at 4-point mark at the final intermission. Qatar triggered a 9:0 run at the start of the fourth quarter to gain a 12-point advantage. They kept Lebanon at bay throughout the reminder of the contest and sealed the win at the end. Mansour Atif accounted for 14 points, while Mohammed Yousef added 13 points for the winners. Garnett Thompson answered with 26 points and 16 boards for Lebanon. Jean Abdel Nour had 24 points and 12 caroms in the loss.
