Very important is a road loss of third ranked Halcones Rojos (4-2) against fourth ranked Toros (5-1) on Friday night. Visiting Halcones Rojos were defeated by Toros in Nuevo Laredo 89-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Halcones Rojos. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Toros. Halcones Rojos was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toros dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Halcones Rojos' 24. American forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St.) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: ProSportsCareers) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 11 points and 8 assists. Five Toros and four Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Halcones Rojos' coach tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toros moved-up to second place, which they share with Panteras. Halcones Rojos at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Toros will play against league's leader Halcones UV Xalapa at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones Rojos will play against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and hope to get back on the winning track.
