Iran are the first finalists of Fiba Asia Cup in Tokyo. They held off Philippines in the first semifinal of the day today. Hamed Afagh provided 14 points to lead the winners. Philippines enjoyed a slim lead at the end of the opening quarter 17:16. The teams stayed neck and neck in the second frame. Iran managed to level things up at 30 at the end of the first half. The third term saw Iran surge ahead. They fired 23 points and established a 6-point advantage before the final stanza. Iran opened the fourth frame on a 9:2 run to take a 13-point lead. The margin soon grew at 18-point mark as Philippines struggled to stay in the game. Iran dominated throughout the rest of the encounter and posted a comfortable win at the end. Mohammad Jamshidi and Asghar Kardoust provided 13 points each for the winning side. LA Tenorio and Jared Dillinger responded with 13 points apiece for Philippines.
