China earned the right to fight for the fifth place at Fiba Asia Cup. They fired past Lebanon tonight to set up the clash versus Taiwan in Tokyo tomorrow. Lebanon will take on Uzbekistan for the 7th position. Zhao TaiLong stepped up with 27 points to carry China to the victory. China stormed into the game leaving Lebanon behind. They posted a 23:11 lead after ten minutes. China maintained the pressure in the second quarter. They accumulated a 45:31 halftime advantage. The teams exchanged baskets throughout the third period. China were able to secure a 14-point lead into the fourth frame. China limited Lebanon to only 12 points in the fourth stanza and sealed the victory at the end. Duan JiangPeng netted 15 points, while Wang Zhelin added 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Fadi Khatib answered with game-high 34 points for Lebanon. Garnett Thompson netted 7 points in the loss.
