Regular Season Round 1: BG Lulea - Alvik Basket 84-74

Date: September 22, 2012
Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Alvik Basket (0-2) was defeated on the road by leader BG Lulea (1-0) 84-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 28-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BG Lulea had a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Marcus Flink (190-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and guard Marcus Grahn (183-95) chipped in 17 points. Five BG Lulea players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bjorn Larsson Hillgren (-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and Anton Juhlin (-91) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. BG Lulea keeps a position of North leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Alvik Basket still closes the standings with two games lost. BG Lulea will face KFUM Blackebergs (#7) in Vallingby in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
