Qatar clinch Bronze at the Fiba Asia Cup in Tokyo. The GCC champions repeated of their bronze medal success from two years ago, having beaten Philippines at the similar stage at the 3rd FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup. Tonight they needed 79:63 to finish on the third place. Qatar started the game with 12-8 lead and added 23-18 in the second period. Norwood Gabe reduced to 55:47 at the end of the third period as Philippines won the quarter 22-20. Qatar however needed a 24-15 surge in the last stanza to win bronze at Fiba Asia Cup in Tokyo. Yousef Mohammed top-scored for the winners with 17 points and Johnson Clinton Fihnoir had 16. Suliman Khalid posted 14, while Ali Erfan had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Douthit Marcus replied with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while David Gary notched 15. Dillinger Jared scored 12 and Norwood Gabe added 10.
