Regular Season Round 2: Eos - Malbas 82-76

Everything could happen in Lund at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked IK Eos and 6th ranked Malbas had identical 1-0 record. This time IK Eos used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Malmo 82-76. It was a key game for the top position in South. Malbas were ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 49-33 second half run of IK Eos. They also forced 22 Malbas turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. IK Eos players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Malbas' players. Guard Gustav Nystrom (189-89, college: Hope) notched 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and center David Hult (204-89) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four IK Eos players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by American point guard Dwight Bankhead (181-83) did not help to save the game for Malbas. Kosovan power forward Korab Ferizi (201-85) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. IK Eos (2-0) keep a position of South leader, which they share with Boras II and Brahe Basket. Malbas at the other side keep the sixth place with one game lost. IK Eos' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Brahe Basket in Huskvarna and it will be for sure the game of the week. Malbas will play at home against Hogsbo (#7) in Goteborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
