Regular Season Round 1: Liepaja - Valga 96-66

The game had a very big importance for eighth-ranked Latvian Liepaja as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Liepaja smashed bottom-ranked Estonian Valga at home 96-66. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-66. Liepaja forced 27 Valga turnovers. Arturs Bricis (196-92) stepped up and scored 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Artis Ate (191-89) chipped in 14 points. Liepaja's coach Guntis Endzels felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
