Regular Season Round 1: TuNMKY - BC Jyvaskyla 73-51

1st Division round 1 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader BC Jyvaskyla (0-1) against leader TuNMKY (1-0) 73-51 was the most important game of the last round. The game without a history. TuNMKY led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 BC Jyvaskyla turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Dariush Hazrati (186-94) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Center Miikka Markkanen (200-93) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Samir Itani (192-90) added 4 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for BC Jyvaskyla. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TuNMKY left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Division. BC Jyvaskyla at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Oulun NMKY. BC Jyvaskyla will play next round against strong KaU Koris trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TuNMKY will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked HBA-Marsky in Helsinki.
