Regular Season Round 4: VSE Praha - Pardubice 93-66

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked VSE Praha and bottom-ranked BK Pliska Studanka had identical 0-3 record. This time VSE Praha used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Pardubice 93-66 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by VSE Praha. BK Pliska Studanka was better in fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BK Pliska Studanka to just 6 points in third quarter. VSE Praha made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 BK Pliska Studanka turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for VSE Praha especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when VSE Praha made 7 blocks. BK Pliska Studanka was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for international guard Darina Johnova (178-85) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Denisa Harapesova (168-90) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four VSE Praha players scored in double figures. Swingman Michaela Pavlasova (180-91) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and forward Hana Kramperova (176-85) added 12 points in the effort for BK Pliska Studanka. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. VSE Praha (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Lokomotiva and Slovanka MB. It was BK Pliska Studanka's fourth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. VSE Praha will face Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (#8) on the road in the next round. BK Pliska Studanka will play against Kara Trutnov and hopes to get finally their first victory.
