Very expected game in Pruszkow where bottom-ranked AZS PP (0-3) was defeated by tenth ranked Znicz Basket (2-1) 67-57 on Sunday. The game without a history. Znicz Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Znicz Basket forced 21 AZS PP turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Znicz Basket made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Michal Aleksandrowicz (188-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Damian Janiak (191-89) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Adam Metelski (208-83, college: Cal-Irvine) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Pawel Hybiak (173-89) scored 7 points and 7 assists. AZS PP's coach Waldemar Mendel gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Znicz Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted AZS PP still closes the standings with three games lost. Znicz Basket will face P.Cukier SIDEn (#3) in Torun in the next round, which may be the game of the day. AZS PP will play at home against UMKS Kielce (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
