Third ranked Gigantes (13-4) crushed at home 5th ranked Valencianes (6-10) by 33 points 97-64, which is the biggest margin this round on Tuesday night. The game without a history. Gigantes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Valencianes' 30. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Kaihla Szunko (187-88, college: Cent.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Carla Cortijo (172-87, college: Texas) helped adding 18 points. Five Gigantes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international center Esmary Vargas-Sanchez (191-81, college: Emporia St.) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Yasmine Holmes scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Morovis M. Valencianes lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with ten games lost. Gigantes will face league's second-placed Montaneras in Morovis in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Valencianes will play at home against Leonas in Ponce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
