Regular Season Round 5: USK Praha - IMOS Brno 78-68

There was a change at the ZBL leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 5 took place in Praha between two undefeated teams where USK Praha beat IMOS Brno (4-1) 78-68 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of IMOS Brno. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by USK Praha. IMOS Brno managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Montenegrin guard Jelena Skerovic (176-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four USK Praha players scored in double figures. Swedish forward Farhiya Abdi (188-92) responded with 28 points and 6 rebounds and Slovakian center Anna Jurcenkova (195-85) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. USK Praha (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion (5-0) keeps a position of league leader. IMOS Brno at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Trutnov and Hradec Kralove. They were replaced at the leadership position by USK Praha. IMOS Brno will play next round against Basket Slovanka MB trying to make it back to the top of the standings. USK Praha will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked DSK Karlin on the road.
