Rather expected game when bottom-ranked TuRi (0-3) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked HyPo (1-1) 74-61. TuRi was ahead by 12 points at the halftime before a 42-17 second half run of HyPo. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TuRi to just 6 points in third quarter. They also forced 26 TuRi turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Kathlyn Varno (185-88, college: Wofford) accounted for 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four TuRi players scored in double figures. HyPo left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with HoNsU. TuRi at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Kerava. HyPo will play against Kerava Energia Team (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TuRi will play against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta and hopes to get finally their first victory.
