Regular Season Round 4: Chomutov - BK Decin 97-98

A very close game took place in Chomutov between BK Decin and Levharti Chomutov. Top-ranked BK Decin (2-0) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Levharti Chomutov (1-3). BK Decin managed to escape with a 1-point win 98-97 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 29-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Robert Landa (200-82) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American guard Patrick Pope (183-81, college: St.Augustine) who added 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. BK Decin's coach Pavel Budinsky allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Showron Glover (180-87) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and power forward Pavel Stanek (203-76, agency: Court Side) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BK Decin maintains fifth position with 2-0 record. Loser Levharti Chomutov dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with J.Hradec and BK Prostejov. BK Decin will meet at home BC Kolin (#7) in the next round. Levharti Chomutov will play against Levice.
